When the Iranians of the World platform began recruiting its partners, we gradually discovered several significant issues within the Iranian community abroad. One of the most prominent issues is the lack of unity and cohesion among many Iranians living outside of Iran. Unfortunately, due to various challenges they face—such as distrust, unhealthy competition, and negative past experiences in social interactions—there is a noticeable lack of solidarity. Instead of supporting one another, many Iranians tend to distance themselves from collaborative and constructive engagement. Of course, this issue does not apply to all 8 million Iranians living abroad, but a considerable portion of this community struggles with division and lack of trust.

Furthermore, we have identified traces of certain groups operating discreetly and systematically within these communities, whose main objective appears to be undermining unity among Iranians. Many of these groups have political agendas, and it remains unclear who funds or provides them with the resources to carry out their activities. They use unconventional methods to recruit individuals, and if someone refuses to join them or disagrees with their ideology, they often face harassment, pressure, and, in some cases, even entrapment in malicious schemes. These activities significantly contribute to the growing mistrust among Iranians and create further divisions within the community. Despite these challenges, Iranians abroad are highly dedicated to professional advancement, specialization, and education.

A strong sense of nationalism is evident among them—regardless of their personal beliefs, they all share a deep love for their homeland.
